welcome to Soo Line Credit Union

SLCU Needs You to Volunteer!

SLCU is a financial cooperative that relies on its member/owners for its governance. Members elect a volunteer Board of Directors, who meet monthly to discuss the vision and direction of the credit union. Board members may also serve on a separate committee that meets on a periodic basis as well. The Board of Directors appoints a Supervisory Committee that reviews the credit union’s financial transactions, balance sheet and income statements and provides reporting to state and federal regulators. Board members serve a three-year term, with Supervisory Committee members being appointed on an annual basis.

SLCU is always looking for members willing to volunteer their time, energy and talent to SLCU and the credit union movement. Volunteers for the Supervisory Committee and Board will be considered using the following criteria:

  1. Membership in SLCU.
  2. Reputation for integrity, hard work and ethical standards.
  3. Ability to exercise independent judgment, willingness to disclose obligations and potential conflicts of interest.
  4. Professional/volunteer roles and accomplishments.
  5. Educational background.
  6. The extent to which the individual would bring relevant skills or experience to the Board or Supervisory Committee.
  7. Your ability to donate your available time, energy and interest.

The above criteria for selection is not meant to be exhaustive; they are, however, considered key factors.

If you would like to be nominated, please complete the Expression of Interest Form and return to a SLCU office or by e-mail to savagecu@slcu.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to call President/CEO Chris Goebel at 612-373-9412.
